@dilipkjena A4. Holiness is an attribute of God; pure, righteous, merciful and good. God can choose to make things holy; Christ shed his blood in atoning sacrifice that we would be made holy, if we give ourselves to Him; repent of our sins, with new hearts, as new men #HealthyFaithChat

@PilgrimIntoWord Hi Shannon! #HealthyFaithChat

@dilipkjena A3. Priests administered the sacrificial system, and once a year they could enter the Holy of Holies, as imperfect intermediaries. The imperfection would resolved in Christ, our perfect redeemer. #HealthyFaithChat

A2. Israel were God’s people, chosen from all the nations to be bride for His Son. In the event, this would not be fulfilled until later, in the form of Christ’s sacrifice for people of all nations who take up their cross and believe in Him.

@dilipkjena A1. God gave Israel the Ten Commandments as a covenant between Him and His chosen people, that they be different and separate from the pagan nations around them, and a light to the rest of the world.

Nick here, what did I miss?! #HealthyFaithChat

Running a bit late today so will join you when I can! #HealthyFaithChat

@OnTongues And isn’t it just as well. Nothing we can do comes close to perfection. The more I try to be ‘good’ the more I realise I’m falling short. Thank God for Jesus!

@Svigel This was something I thought when I was reading my Bible for the first time. It was obvious that this wasn’t made up, as it was (as you say) too messy. There is so much historical detail in Luke’s Gospel as well; the more detail in a lie, the more likely it is to be found out.…

@Carpet16100850 Mathematics to me is like music. Music is a beautiful language that I love to hear, but can’t speak. Some people have perfect pitch. Some people can ‘see’ numbers & patterns, whereas to me it’s more mysterious. What fascinates me is how maths is baked into creation’s very fabric.

@EllieR Hmmm. There is a strong chance that those cookies are not ‘just’ chocolate chip… caveat emptor. 🌿

Mathematics is God’s machine language. It is not the product of man’s mind, but His.

This video will make you think differently about maths. Maths is made mystery by our culture when it could be natural revelation.

I don’t believe that translations are inspired, but the inspiration of the underlying texts is still able to break through to the modern reader despite the filter of both translation and intervening culture differences.

@AndrewS76825037 @YourCalvinist I grew up hearing ‘Father, Son and Holy Ghost’. Church of England. I didn’t realise it was odd until someone called me out on it not long after I’d ‘joined’ Christian Twitter. I’m not aware of any history associated with the term but I’m happier with ‘Holy Spirit’, nowadays.

@PADutchRunner Here’s a link to my full post, if you’re at all interested. Looking back it was a bit rushed, but says what I thought! weneedanark.micro.blog/2022/08/05/boo…

@PADutchRunner I totally agree with this. I wrote something very similar after I read Miller & Soden’s Book In The Beginning … We Misunderstood - t.co/NiBundpsw…

@RealTheoBro I try.

It is this perfection of thought that I believe evidences divine inspiration. But what is even more incredible is how this perfection and the beauty of the way ideas are expressed in the Bible, transcends translation. The beauty is there in the English. How else is that possible?

@StoneKamino Fantastic! Well done, Mr P de C!

Luke 3:7–9 Bear fruits in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.

And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘𝑾𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑨𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒎 𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓.’ As D. ML Jones reminds us in his Studies on the Sermon on the Mount, we Christians, we who are ‘poor in spirit’ have no birthright claim on anything pertaining to the kingdom of God. t.co/HCCxLVqx8…

@Curi_Christian @ThinkInst @UnReformed316 @BenKissling @TakeThatDarwin @wendelltalks You know that I spent 40+ years with an atheist scientific ‘consensus’ world view and came to a YEC perspective despite that. I still find space for concepts like quantum and string theory which attempt to explain the mechanics of God’s creation. We don’t know it all about how…

@ThinkInst @Curi_Christian @UnReformed316 @BenKissling @TakeThatDarwin @wendelltalks I agree on both points.

@Curi_Christian @ThinkInst @UnReformed316 @BenKissling @TakeThatDarwin @wendelltalks There isn’t actually as much scientific consensus as popular media would have us think. There are multiple competing theories being thrashed out. I hold scripture to be infallible and have not seen anything compelling that would cause me to interpret Genesis 1 as anything but…

@men_like_trees What kind of books are you wanting to read? Or are you wanting to study. I do both but most of my reading is study-based. I want to be able to highlight, keep notes, and I like to use a pencil for this. I have a Kindle Paperwhite which is fine for basic reading but use an iPad…
