@AndrewS76825037 @virginia_garret That is how I learnt it. Then I look it up and there’s a load of equivocation that I wasn’t aware of. I assumed they were damned but you believe they were saved 🤯🤔 I’m just confused now.
@AndrewS76825037 @virginia_garret There is debate about the nature and purpose of their deaths… they are complicated.
@virginia_garret If we are saved then Jesus pays the price, but there is still a price - some call it a ransom. If we are unsaved then we bear the cost directly.
I’m reading the Psalms, but they were intended to be sung. Finding scripturally faithful versions that are musically enjoyable isn’t easy. Many modern artists excessively paraphrase or cherry pick verses. Scottish artist Ian White doesn’t. Recommended.
@RevelationOpen Scroll the tread down for the second post.
@virginia_garret Romans 6:23 says yes.
@virginia_garret @JoshIdachaba Definitely not the end, but a beginning! 🤲

Before I came to Christ I was angry at the state of the world. Angry at the moral decay and material idolatry. I mused that a new Ark was needed to save the few while the rest could be washed away in a great storm…
Then I realised that it was Jesus I needed all along.

@Curi_Christian I’ve no idea why it might be trending today of all days, but it’s relatively recent phenomon being driven by Tik-Tok and YouTube in male culture generally, IMO. Where have you seen it here (assume you mean Christian Twitter).
@men_like_trees @JesseDornfeld I’ve said to Jesse before I felt it was like some post-modernist prosperity Gospel. The impression of Christian doctrine, but without God. The metadata but not the data. I’ve only come to realise it fully more recently. It was his ‘message to Christians’ that bought it home to me
@men_like_trees I would love to see it in real life. 2.5m x 3m. It is massive. t.co/qClQVFEX3…
@men_like_trees It was Ivan Aivazovsky’s Deluge that first pursuaded me that there was extraordinary expository power in biblical art. It brings you to the words with a level of emotion that no film or TV show could ever hope to. t.co/87cUdQieB…
@men_like_trees I’m glad you like my posts. I hope that they bring the words to life, or give them slightly enhanced understanding, or please the senses of those who just love the word. I hope they evangelise as well. For me it has bought me closer to the magnificence of some biblical art.
@JesseDornfeld @jordanbpeterson It’s kinda like he doesn’t get it 🙁
In truth, Dr. Peterson was a pivotal influence to me opening my eyes to Christ. I worry though that he has seen only part of the picture. At some point you must open your heart as well as your mind, to the truth of the Gospel.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

@men_like_trees @StoneKamino It is in all honesty my favourite. If I were in cultured company I might have a Pizza Napoli but if it’s just be and a box at home, it’s a Hawaiian! What can I say?!
@StoneKamino @men_like_trees Especially Hawaiian! 🍍 🍖
@StoneKamino @men_like_trees Ha ha. Even in my own line of work, there’s a world of difference between an enterprise grade solution something that works. It can take us 4 months just to get a security design completed! You can have a beautiful basic e-commerce website up and running in minutes these days.
@men_like_trees Sadly not. I’m rough and ready when it comes to design, too. I work in databases and CRM for a living. People would say I was a techie! If I could do something artistic properly, I’d love to play the piano…
@men_like_trees In general terms, I just spend time on image search engines like Google or Bing Images, looking through themes, and the best ones just jump out. Then it is a matter of finding the best quality versions - size, resolution, clarity, etc. It’s meditative!
@men_like_trees The first image is The Great Day of His Wrath by John Martin which is owned by The Tate in Britain. I got the image from Wikimedia Commons. The second image is Study for the Pilgrim of the Cross at the End of his Journey by Thomas Cole which I got from Wikiart.org.
