@men_like_trees I think you switched me on to Unlocking The Bible and I’ve since been digging around his other resources, but thank you in any case!!
All teachers will have perspectives you don’t agree with. Both make me uncomfortable at times - and that makes me think. But both have enriched my understanding of scripture immeasurably.
Thanks to @men_like_trees for initially introducing me to both.

Here are recordings of hundreds of hours of book by book and chapter by chapter exposition. I am particularly enjoying David’s Isaiah series at the moment.
Martin Lloyd-Jones has recordings of hundreds (or thousands, I’ve not counted) of sermons going through books and topics of the Bible in an expositional way and he has a way with deep insight which has stood the rest of time.
With that in mind, I wanted to share two extensive libraries which I recommend for their depth breadth and biblical soundness. While both are well known (or should be) their full ‘back catalogue’ isn’t widely publicised, but should be.
“For when one says, “I belong to Paul,” and another, “I belong to Apollos,” are you not merely men?” 1 Corinthians 3:4
I’m increasingly conscious of the trap that is following ‘a’ teacher and I use a wide variety of resources in my studies.
@SarahGeringer Praying for God to give you strength Sarah. And that any new stewards of your Grandparent’s farm do right by their legacy.
Acts 6:13-15

@JesseDornfeld @Andrewnsnyder Isn’t the best fantasy and sci-fi always just a retelling of ‘the greatest story ever told’. The Matrix, Star Wars. People love the shadow of the Gospel. All the excitement of a kinsman redeemer without the need to do anything in return.
@EhzNow It is another Heironymus Bosch original. This one is called The Visions of Tondal. His stuff really is this bizarre without any manipulation! I particularly like the clown character in the top left.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;
that put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Isn’t this what our modern culture does all the time? Calls good evil, and evil good. Celebrates darkness and despises the truth? What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

Genesis 49:11 Israel’s promise to Judah.
Binding his foal to the vine
and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine,
he has washed his garments in wine
and his vesture in the blood of grapes.

@Pathfindergpusa This looks really good but is there a reason why the E is a 3? If it’s just stylistic I’d argue it’s potentially distracting or confusing. You could still go with a white E for style 😀
Genesis 34:7 Dinah is dishonoured. Jacob’s sons seek vengeance. A difficult story. Sin against us is never put right by our own sin. Genesis 34 shows what happens when we trust in ourselves. Better we should trust in God. HE will ensure justice.

@SarahGeringer Some of the Psalms are ANGRY, shockingly so. Job is ANGRY. Reading them I’m thinking ‘you can’t say that’, but you can.. that’s the thing. God knew what venting was before we even had a word for it. It clears the air and allows perspective. I hope things are easier now than Oct22
@TwitterBlue Hi there @TwitterSupport - is there any reason why my mobile number (with the network @ThreeUK) comes up with ‘carrier not supported’ when I try to verify? It does with the same with my work mobile number too. Which carriers are supported in the UK?
@Carpet16100850 Yes. When I read Isaiah 3 I immediately thought of Extinction Rebellion (XR) and their influence as encapsulating this notion that capricious children will rule, along with cancel culture ‘each one by another, and each one by his neighbour’. The image is from an XR demonstration.
@GeorgeEWade @AlTheBoss03 Oh I love brussel sprouts, boiled with gravy, carrots and roast potatoes! t.co/jOIllZOPv…
Isaiah 3:4–5 I think we might be seeing the beginning of birth pains on this one.

@men_like_trees You just couldn’t make it up. Surely, placing anything into a space like that would be more provocation than comfort, regardless of faith. For a Christian, you might as well have placed an Asherah pole. An empty space would’ve been better - ‘for where two or three are gathered..’
Genesis 32:28 Jacob wrestles with God.
When we pray - when the Spirit helps us with our insecurities, and we can barely describe our fears or our needs, our prayer is wrestling with God.

Now Reading: Isaiah

I am now officially 57% through my latest Beginning to End bible study. I am so keen to get stuck into Isaiah again.
