@CSLCHSnMore I’m not a great fan of theocracy or theonomy. It’s not worked out well when it’s been tried. #HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore A8. If we cannot enbrace the ten with our hearts and our mind, if we try to seek ways around them, then it wouldn’t matter how many laws there were. We would deserve a myriad of laws designed to counter and fix our devious avoidance. #HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore A7. A society or a a people? A theocracy governed by fallen men where the Law was applied to other fallen men without Christ’s Kingship over saints reborn in His image would be distopian! This is why we need the Lord Jesus, and his Kingdom, not one of our doing.

@CSLCHSnMore A6. Jesus' deity, earthly ministry, death and resurrenction, his sacrifice for our sins, fulfilled the law with a love no other man could ever do. Adherence to the law is no longer a work, but an act of obedience in grateful recognition of His gift. #HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore A5. Jesus says they are. He refers to the 10 Commandments repeatedly. Eg Mark 10:17-19 (the Rich Young Ruler). They are tied to the Beatitudes/Sermon on the Mount. They are universal for all time. We are grateful for Jesus' grace as we continually fail to adhere #HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore David needs to watch the film again. #HealthyFaithChat
@naenaenuss @CSLCHSnMore Yes. This is so true.
@CSLCHSnMore Or, should we go with what Jesus said: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. (Matthew 22:37-38) #HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore A4. I’m pretty sure the order in which God gave them to Moses wasn’t in any way arbitrary, so it’s an easy #1 for me. Final Answer. “You shall have no other gods before me.” #HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore A3. I’ll be controversial and say that too many serious and committed Christians kid themselves that Mat 5:17 somehow makes the 10 Commandments irrelevent. Romans 13 is clear that this is not the case. Mat 5:28 calls us to observe them both in thought and deed.

@CSLCHSnMore A2. They describe the foundations to our right relationship with God, Family and each other. All other rules can be said to flow from these ten precepts. Some liken them to a Constitution and everything else to case law.

@PilgrimIntoWord @CSLCHSnMore I have often wondered how God managed to get them onto two tablets with one finger. #HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore A1. 4/5ths. #HealthyFaithChat
@PilgrimIntoWord @CSLCHSnMore Hi Shannon! #HealthyFaithChat
Genesis 2:4
The first ‘toledoth’ (תּוֹלְדֹת) introducing the progeny that came forth from God’s first act of creation - the Heavens and the Earth. What a beautiful way of rooting man back to nature and the cosmos.

@AndrewS76825037 @KevinObie1 Is think that the trio of Amadeus, Harold Faltermeyer’s Axel F and Paul Hardcastles Nineteen were seriously groundbreaking for their time (1985) and massively influential on the remainder of the decade. Looking back I think it’s easy to forget this! 😊
@KevinObie1 You have very good taste! I have the 7” UK release. This conversation will probably prompt me to dig it out for a spin this weekend!
@KevinObie1 Rock Me Amadeus was a genius record. Still is. Amazing that Falco never did anything to even come close to it before or after.
@ambaptized I’ve got my ‘men’ I guess but I get what you mean!
@robertjforrest @men_like_trees In a way I was anticipating criticism (which I’ve had before) from people who believe advocating for a particular resource means you’re an uncritical ‘follower’ of the teacher in question…
@robertjforrest @men_like_trees 100%. As well. Particularly doctrines and denominations named after people 🙄
