Sorry I didn’t make #HealthyFaithChat yesterday. I’ve been suffering from a really rough cold the last 4-5 days which was bad enough, and then a neighbour came round with problem that I needed to fix. Just one of those days. Really need my day of rest today.
Read the definition of an ‘observer’ and see how this is an ‘anything but God’ thought experiment, not seriously proveable science.

@JesseDornfeld I must admit that I find it difficult to not get wound up by bad doctrine, self-satisfying / sin justifying scripture twisting, not to mention the amount of politics wrapped up in ‘Christian Twitter’. It’s hard work keeping a positive, hopeful, encouraging, Christ-based timeline.
@JesseDornfeld 12 year olds think everyone is old.
@JesseDornfeld I try and do the same. There’s too much negativity in the World. Doesn’t need us joining in as well.
@JesseDornfeld Well done Jesse. I’m glad it went well. Long may it continue!
Job 9:5-13 He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea. He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. #wnaadv buff.ly/3INanCy t.co/7sd6fkm7u…
@nickuva The term was perhaps more commonly used in the UK. We had a famous London school of African and Oriental Studies until fairly recently.
@nickuva It’s rather old fashioned and quasi-academic but still the authority on fulfilled OT prophecy, apparently. I don’t know what ‘oriental hyperbole’ is TBH. Page 18 of the intro should reveal all…
You’ve got to love a book which has an Introduction that runs to 144 pages.

@DrShayPhD @pieceofmymynd We are a remnant while the rest of Twitter does it’s best to outdo the worst Old Testament idolatry! Even Jeremiah would be shaking his head!
@pieceofmymynd It’s a parody of Vox.
Jeremiah 10:23–24 I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps. Correct me, O Lord, but in justice; not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing.

@Gorilla2070 I know the Ethiopian church lays an almost legendary claim to it but prevents access. I take that with a pinch of salt. Jeremiah, plus the shame of losing it (eg to Babylon when the 1st Temple was sacked) help explain why it’s loss was so unremarkable.
@Gorilla2070 I love how you put this.
@Carpet16100850 The Spirit was clearly telling me to go back and look again. This issue has nagged me fir a while and I’ve only just finished reading Jeremiah. And in quite some depth ☺️
@Carpet16100850 Thank you - Jeremiah is so dense and full of fulfilled prophesy it is wonderful that he spoke of why the Ark just disappeared from consciousness. It is a sad sad indictment. I’m annoyed that I missed this amongst his more general woes upon Israel.
Any thoughts on why the Bible doesn’t speak of the fate of the Ark of the Covenant? It’s end is notable by it’s absence.

@dilipkjena Thank you for leading! Have a great weekend everybody. #HealthyFaithChat
@dilipkjena A8. 1 Peter 5:6-7 says it well: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. #HealthyFaithChat
