@JesseDornfeld That’s never bothered me because aliens are just fantasy with no ‘reality’ to them anyway… now angels… given the specificity of descriptions in the Bible, the do not be afraid’s, the fear & trembling, it’s incredible how antithetical art has been to the truth all these years

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

@JesseDornfeld The NLT has the sentiment spot on👌

No affiliation by the way.

If you find YouTube a useful resource, but hate how it drags you down a wasteful time-sink, you might like Unhook, a browser extension that allows you to switch off pretty much all of the onscreen elements that will take you off track. Try it! unhook.app

I have mine set to redirect the Homepage to my Subscriptions, with recommendations only in the sidebar, which are generally relevent to the video (off a subscribed channel) that I’m watching. So I can avoid all those people getting hurt and angry mom videos YouTube likes so much.

This is so good. Can’t wait for the album.

@CDGingrich Yes, my favourite of his Biblical scenes was the 5th Plague of Egypt. The sky in that is extraordinary. One day I’m going to have to do a few weekends away and go see some of these paintings in person. His, and John Martin’s, especially. twitter.com/CDGingrich/sta…

@Realamino22 @ILoveSnooker_ Total genius.

@CDGingrich I find something utterly beguiling in paintings that capture the magnificence and power of the sea. It can take you so viscerally back to the deluge and the flood. Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4 is a wonderful reminder of God’s promise in Genesis 9:13.

@CDGingrich What a painting!

@HoneycombHermit @MogzillaBooks Well done Keren!

Isn’t this beautiful. Ezekiel 31:8-9. God reminds Pharoah that he made Egypt, that even the trees in the garden of Eden were a shadow of the splendour of those in that country. Pharoah could claim no credit. t.co/cRu6pNvQ2…

Ephesians 2:14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.

@virginia_garret Jam doughnuts and cucumber sandwiches, but not in that order 😅

@AndrewS76825037 I have to admit it got quite OCD at times, and it’s one of those things I have to manage. I know we all have those things that we know can get unhealthy. I want to feel that I could lose my collection in a massive hard-drive calamity and be content. I think I’m there. 🤞🙏

@AndrewS76825037 I might have said before that The Byrds would be in my Top 10, with CSNY and Crosby solo hanging on the coat-tails of the Clarence White and Roger McGuinn era. Prog-rock was an early love. Earlier Pink Floyd especially, then Gong, through whom I found Soft Machine, and then jazz.

@AndrewS76825037 I still listen to a lot but I don’t identify with it in the same way. To be in any way revealing I’d have to run to a hundred or more artists, and no-one’s gonna read that!

@AndrewS76825037 I don’t think I could even start to compile a list of artists that I wouldn’t feel was in some way pigeon-holing me. I was a collector of music for many years before I realised that it was just filling a God-shaped hole.

Sadly, it seems I’m going to wait until Chapter 33 for the words of hope and restoration. For now, it’s judgement against the other nations… 🤕

@JesseDornfeld Thank you Jesse. Worn out today but I’ll get there 😀

@PilgrimIntoWord Thank you, Shannon. Not feeling quite so bad today so I hope I’m on the mend!

I’m reading the New American Commentary alongside Ezekiel. It’s amazing how much there is to learn beyond the surface level. The NAC is available free with a Scribd subscription. I bought it when it was on sale in the Olive Tree Bible app. I like the linked verses feature there. t.co/IrstCDBsH…

They say that Jeremiah is hard going but Ezekiel is harder. Not difficult to read but unrelentingly sad. I feel many parallels between Jerusalem’s behaviour and our own culture. I’ve just finished Chapter 24. I’m looking forward to the hope of Ch. 25 onwards; I really need it…
