@Carpet16100850 Nine reading days to go. The Minor Prophets are obviously shorter, but for all the Prophets I’m doing quite a bit of background reading to understand the context of fulfilment and their place in the New. So it’s likely to take more than my Reading Plan suggests 😀
@seaslugcr @men_like_trees Does she normally wear a crown of thorns?
Joel 2:25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.

God’s promise to those who turn to Him - He will restore to you the years which the locusts have eaten.

@creatorclues ‘These things seem quite normal throughout history’. I think that is the point 🙂 Gen. 6 tells what was going on before the flood. Mat. 24 describes the carefree ignorance of those who did not know that the Flood was coming - like those who will be ignorant at the end of days.
@Luke17_37 Your analysis brings clarity to Verse 2 in a way that makes more sense than what is more of a foreshadowing or partial fulfilment in Christ’s resurrection. I knew there was a broader application to the Tribulation… Verse 2 feels very clear now.
@Luke17_37 Thank you. I actually follow your Blog and subscribe to the post-trib rapture based on my own natural reading and understanding of scripture. I hadn’t realised you’d covered Hosea 5-6. I will give it a read!
Hosea 6:1-3 was written to describe the restoration of Israel, but clearly foreshadows Christ’s restoration from death after three days. When I read it I spoke to me of the parallel with the tribulation and wrath of the end times (torn/struck) and our reconciliation (heal/bind).
Hosea 6:1–2 Let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him.

@PastorWildman @INTOY2014 @RoehrbornS @Olde_Smith @RealPaulAhnert @retrophisch @JD_Wininger It’s one I used to hear regularly when I was growing up in the West Midlands of the UK. I’m glad people enjoy keeping these phrases alive 😀
Now Reading: Hosea

Hosea 5:11–13 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was determined to go after vanity. Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim, and like dry rot to the house of Judah.

@JesseDornfeld Really glad 🙂
@Gorilla2070 If unsavoury types want to read my wholesome tweets and maybe have their eyes opened to the glory of God then I’m fine with that.
I do though try to avoid following back accounts that are unsavoury/overly political/scammy because I come here to be lifted up not diminished…
Oh wow. For some reason Daniel is really speaking to me these last few days. twitter.com/lambeth981/sta…
@jhow0089 You know this, I’m sure. Many do not…
@jhow0089 Simply, to prepare us. We may not know the time or day, but we will certainly know it when we see it. And like the virgins and their oil lamps, only those ready for the forthcoming trials will prevail. The last chapters of Revelation are dense. Many have no idea what to expect.
@KevinObie1 A8. God’s patience exceeds anything that is humanly possible. He holds no hurt. His willingness to forgive those who honestly and humbly turn back to Him is unceasing. Humans can be broken by infidelity; only God can heal their hearts.

@KevinObie1 A7. Our casual attitude to sin causes us to fail to properly recognise the extraordinary pain and distress that Christ felt when he took all that upon him. I cannot imagine the emotional distress, the shame and guilt he felt in our place.
