@PilgrimIntoWord @KevinObie1 It really is a lovely painting, and well-worthy of a King.
@nickuva Interestingly this was one analytical strand mentioned in my New American Commentary. The context about Abraham is really useful in understanding why the disciple might have thought it was a reasonable proposition. And why Jesus' response was so blunt. Thank you.
@PilgrimIntoWord Yes indeed. While foxes and birds have an earthly home, the Son of Man’s home is ultimately not of this world. As is ours if we choose to follow Him. And the second disciple is asked whether he has more respect for the dead or the living God. What a conversation!

@Carpet16100850 They are. You could write pages on the implications of those 4 verses.
@JesseDornfeld Respect to 2Pac, RIP.
I never really got this, I think I do now.
Perhaps to some it’s obvious.
The imagery of the animals is obscure, suggesting there’s more to it, and the response to the second disciple is shocking, based on a surface reading.
I’m interested in what others think. t.co/IZXYngDZ4…
@KevinObie1 @CSLCHSnMore Happy Birthday David! Now obviously this one is ceremonial - how long til your real one, or is that a state secret?
@virginia_garret When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the people hoped He would liberate them from the Romans, but he chose to confront the corruption in the Temple. His clearing of the outer courtyard, the Court of the Gentiles, was particularly poignant as it showed His salvation was coming for all.…
@JesseDornfeld This is brilliant. It reads nicely. The structure doesn’t force itself on the thoughts. It must have been a challenge to put together, I can imagine you being eager to share it!
@Matt_Rehrer 1. The Bible, New Testament first, then Old. 20mins/day. 2. David Pawson’s ‘Unlocking The Bible’. Pawson carefully brings to life an understanding of the beauty of the Bible in overview that will lay a solid biblically sound foundation for further appreciation of God’s word.
Faced with evidence of Jesus' miracles, the people begged Him to go. You’d have thought that with evidence of His power people would be grateful for His presence amongst them. But no. They are as happy to see Him as the demoniacs. So it will be when His time comes again. t.co/iqKdvkFZI…
Matthew 26:26-29
“Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

If I could go back and tell myself anything, this would be one of those things. Living together is liking playing at being a grown-up. And ultimately empty. Truly committed marriage is a completely different ballgame. twitter.com/Sean_McDowell/…
@AuthorJ_Fowler Fingers cross it came with willpower! Good luck with the writing!
@AuthorJ_Fowler That looks suspiciously overpowered for word processing. Are you sure you just got it for writing 😄 t.co/nHtFXKh97…
I have this on LP from 1987, great album. But just found that it was reissued in 2022, which was well overdue! Still unavailable on CD, as far as I’m aware. horninsounds.bandcamp.com/album/ina-root…

@Art2Cor5 I feel this. 2000 years after Christ’s death is a pivotal period. The world is a bewildering place. 2020 showed just how tenuous a gift ‘normality’ is.
But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 1 Thessalonians 5:4
@HeraldOfPurity I came to the realisation that I needed to memorise scripture for this very reason. Aside from the OP’s point, Christians will have to endure the Tribulation when that comes. It will be a time like none other endured by man. We may lose everything, but we must hold onto the Word.
@JesseDornfeld I wish I had lived through the discovery and publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Isaiah find was seismic and must have been such a vindication to believers at the time. Who knows what similar items will turn up in the next 100 years. Far from history refuting Biblical truth,…
@JesseDornfeld Yes. Things are going to get really toxic again.
I do love Matthew’s Gospel.
