This passage is also brutal for Peter.
Making more connections today. I had wondered why scripture admitted that Christ, in his divinity, asked that the cup pass from Him. It is of course answered in v. 41, those famous words that ‘the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak’.
In His deity, willing, in His humanity,… t.co/vw5da5aY3…
It is interesting, and telling, that in the midst of passages detailing Christ’s betrayal by Judas we are specifically told that ALL disciples were invited to drink from the cup of the first Lords Supper, a picture of grace even before the events of the Garden (Matthew 26). t.co/Xlm4tJF0V…
@AndrewS76825037 Do you have a painting in the attic by any chance? Somehow you look younger today than you do in your profile pic!
Have a great day!
He will return! t.co/Mgug1I2WY5
@JesseDornfeld Melatonin is what they give to kids to struggle to sleep. It really works! And I’m so glad it’s working for you. Heavy sleeping meds won’t do much good for depression but Melatonin is gentle and really just helps get your body in balance. Great news Jesse.
@OnTongues That is one of my all-time favourites too! I hope you’re having a great day today. Is he your first? I remember my son at that age - it feels like no time has passed at all, but he’ll be eighteen later this year!
@OnTongues Matthew 19:27-30 is applicable here. While we may not concieve of an immediate literal scenario where we leave everything to follow Him, those who endure the Tribulation, enduring to the end, and it’s hundredfold reward, most likely will. t.co/vUO3QTGmd…
@RevelationOpen 100%.
This weighs heavily on my heart. Matthew 25, Christ’s final judgement. He does not ask what did you do for me; instead: ‘Truly, I say to you - as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers - you did it to me.
It’s not much to ask is it? Or is it? t.co/Y98H63tsm…
@OnTongues Thank you OnTongues! I really appreciate this. Feel free to borrow anything if you ever want to illustrate your own work. My stuff is all for God’s glory, and if it brings just one person to Him I will have done what I set out to achieve!
@JesseDornfeld Thank you Jesse, they are but dust on the scales! Seriously, though - it is nice to see them all together. I need to revisit some of the old ones. I don’t like the old look as much as my more recent stuff. The verses are harder to make out on some, and that’s the important bit!

The great and first commandment: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

@JesseDornfeld I’m sure that Daniel would have been able to make sense of the second part of this.
@men_like_trees @matthewwinters6 I realise the irony of retweeting this but I’ve noticed that there is a difference between those who observe this maxim and those that don’t. And it’s inversely correlated to popularity on Social Media.

@Gorilla2070 @Furmadamadam It does mean you don’t have to wait ages for cold water while the warm gets flushed out of the system on a mixer (my experience with newer mixer taps).

Luke 13:29–30 And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God. And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.

This lesson is one which I find extraordinarily deep. Particularly the application in Matthew 20:16, which always confused me as a child. Faith; not works.
