On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it

Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Genesis 19:24-26. “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.” But not even ten righteous souls could be found in either Sodom, or Gomorrah. bible.com/bible/59/gen.1… t.co/csuVB0yAf…

@SpurgeonBooks Profound insights like this are why Charles Spurgeon is one of the greatest ministers of the modern age, even 130 years after his death. Every Christian should meditate on this.

@Carpet16100850 Even their theories demand that we suspend belief in unchanging, immutable, natural laws. Inflation to explain the size of the universe despite absence of sufficient red-shift, etc. Unlike heliocentralism which is clearly provable, and which was proven, back in the 16th century.

@Carpet16100850 This conflation of the heliocentricity vs geocentricity argument with that of old versus young earth is sophistry. Nudge nudge wink wink, look at these flat-earthers..

Science does not tell us how or when the universe was created. Scientists have theories, but no proof.

@StoneKamino @virginia_garret It must have been an absolute blast. I’m sure there’s plenty of stress relief needed on a ship full of hundreds of guys away from home so long!

@StoneKamino @virginia_garret Were you part of the United States Army Band (Pershing’s Own) - or was that a different unit?

@StoneKamino @virginia_garret All I can say is do it. Especially if you have a niche interest. Quality of production on small print runs is fantastic these days and there is immortality in print.

@CSLCHSnMore It was that stone in the shoe which led me to pick up the Bible and really start reading it. Mike Winger’s YouTube channel helped me understand it better. I think it was understanding Jesus in the Old Testament that was the tipping point for me. Like a lightbulb going off. t.co/DQs6sWEUn…

@CSLCHSnMore Now this is going to be controversial, but the stone in my shoe was Jordan Peterson, and his Psychological Significance of the Biblical Stories. I’ll set aside his subsequent journey because I don’t have any horse in that race.

@virginia_garret @StoneKamino I nearly asked this the other day!

@CSLCHSnMore ‘Jerusalem’ by Sir Hubert Parry with lyrics from William Blake.

@JesseDornfeld It’s important to keep it small to keep it manageable. It really is about keeping in touch with people I care about on here. Twitter is always trying to throw more and more in the mix so it’s an uphill battle, but brothers we must stay focussed!

@JesseDornfeld Aw thank you! Can confirm your list status is mutual. It’s also very exclusive. 10 members at present! ☺️

@JesseDornfeld I use lists. Helps filter out noise. I have a list for Friends. Means I can focus on quality before quantity! t.co/iCKxKnzyy…

@JesseDornfeld @Curi_Christian His research effort and quality seems second to none, I’m obviously no expert on the ancient Near East but by wealth of sources I’m convinced he’s done his homework! His video offers a useful additional perespective on the basic figurative interpretation of Joshua 10.

@JesseDornfeld @Curi_Christian I do like Michael Jones' stuff. Don’t agree with him on everything, but he’s sound, and his videos are very well done. I don’t think I’ve watched this one yet though.

@Stuartall1977 There are both - my local church is Reformed Baptist. zetlandchurch.org.uk/our-faith/

@JesseDornfeld Its a great feeling when you get in the zone 😀

@JesseDornfeld @StephenCMeyer I’ll add it to my list 😀 The Audiobook version is on Scribd.

@Curi_Christian One thing I realised as I went through the book was that my feeling that I held ‘loosely’ to my 6 24h day literal young earth view wasn’t true. I’m far more committed to it than I realised! And all the more surprising to me because for 40+ years I was 100% old-earth evolutionist.

@JesseDornfeld Thank you! It’s a gentle start, but I’ve realised I need an outlet for things that need more than can be properly expressed in 280 character chunks.

@JesseDornfeld You are busy!

@JesseDornfeld Thank you for retweeting! Did you see I’d uploaded a new Blog post? Something of my own this time. Shameless plug, but it would be nice to get the word out that it is active! weneedanark.micro.blog/2022/08/05/boo…
