@AndrewS76825037 @CSLCHSnMore Without Christ we are dead. In Christ we live eternally. The fool who denies God is dead in their trespasses. #HealthyFaithChat

It took half a lifetime, much too long and I wish I could have that time again and do it differently, but me too! #HealthyFaithChat twitter.com/JoshIdachaba/s…

@JesseDornfeld This thread seems to be trending and hit my timeline just before your post - synchronicity… twitter.com/LizSpinazola/s…

@JesseDornfeld I saw the tweet in question. Shocking TBH seeing someone literally holier than thou kicking someone they had no idea about on a day when they should have been walking in fellowship with them. Modern legalism.

@JesseDornfeld Pride.

Tracy Chapman - Baby Can I Hold You

Probably one of the deepest ‘pop’ songs of the last 40 years. Humans failing to communicate.

Beautiful simplicity. Dreadfully sad. One of the most moving songs, for me.

Tracy Chapman - Fast Car youtu.be/DwrHwZyFN7M

Cool, but… The Bible wasn’t written in English and the Chapters and Verses were added around 1560AD, so this curiosity could’ve been planned or contrived, but definitely not inspired. m.youtube.com/shorts/hnjzg9C…

@JesseDornfeld @wordnuvola That looks pretty sound!

I do like Joe Kirby’s stuff, but he’s been doing a lot of End Times stuff recently. Still an enjoyable and thought provoking watch.

@virginia_garret I think there is a parallel the ideas between joy in the Spirit vs joy in terms of how we commonly perceive it in modern society - and love in the Spirit, versus love in the modern sense… 🤔

@virginia_garret @men_like_trees and I are working through MLJs Sermons on the Mount collection. He may have more lucid thoughts on the point of frivolous cheer!

@virginia_garret ML Jones seems to feel that Christians are entirely too joyous in a superficial way - that we project an upbeat character when we should be more sober. I’m not far enough through his analysis to fully appreciate this - it feels a little overzealous on first understanding.

@virginia_garret Dr ML Jones points out that the old body needs to be emptied before it can be filled with the Holy Spirit. That is why they are first.

@virginia_garret It’s absolutely no coincidence that the first two of the Beatitudes relate to those harder things, that modern Christians tend to shun: ““Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:3-4

This is really good. I’m currently undecided on the continuing gifts of the Spirit, but I was really encouraged by Jesse’s kindness and his example of really walking with the Cross! twitter.com/JesseDornfeld/…

@JesseDornfeld Thank you. My faith is strong. Life is confusing though 🙂

@JesseDornfeld I must admit that I’m going through a bit of a Job season at the moment. I sympathise with this guy, who seems to be going through a similar thing betterthanwine.net/2016/07/30/the…

@JesseDornfeld That’s not a question I’ve considered much myself, so far. I’m comfortable with the view that they stopped with Paul’s death in Patmos, but I have research to do. When Christ’s second coming occurs the signs and wonders will be indisputable, at which point the issue is moot!

@JesseDornfeld Belief in the five solas is definitely counter-cultural these days.
