@EhzNow Genesis 4:1 describes Eve’s conception of Cain, so I’m not convinced that she was pregnant when expelled from Paradise… before that point I think her role as mother of all living is nascent. But it’s a small point. So much is happening in these early chapters of Genesis!

Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. bible.com/bible/59/isa.6… t.co/wTNNuiT0e…

Reading Hosea and Job, I find myself mourning for the sadness they must have felt as they lived through trials that would defeat even the best person in our cosseted modern world. I have to remind myself that their riches were in Heaven, both faithful and righteous to the end.

Genesis 3:22-23 With Adam and Eve knowing evil, God cannot bring himself to even contemplate man living forever with a sin nature. It would be like a living hell. It is for that reason he sends man from Eden, lest he also eat from the tree of eternal life. bible.com/bible/59/gen.3… t.co/0eMAQnjva…

@InspiringPhilos It’s a really bad example since God created maths with fixed rules. Fractals demonstrate the non-human origins of maths.

To the bigger point, I believe the Bible is inerrant. The word of God and God is never wrong, but reading it does involve translation & interpretation.

Genesis 3:19 Adam is cursed. bible.com/bible/59/gen.3… t.co/EQYO3zEoU…

Genesis 3:21 Despite their grievous sin that cursed humanity through every generation, the Lord God showed his grace, by clothing Adam and Eve in animal skins - the first sacrifice covering our sins, and a foreshadowing of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. bible.com/bible/59/gen.3… t.co/TfJxUrSo1…

Just your regular mediaeval progressive folk… wish I’d seen them live back in 1970 when they were doing this.

@cynthialspell @JesseDornfeld @randysharpswife It starts with “How dare you suggest that there is only one true and Holy God” and ends with “How dare you suggest that even wicked people can be saved and ‘good’ people damned”.

With ‘but what about people who never heard’ somewhere in the middle..all while revelling in sin 🤷🏻‍♂️

@virginia_garret @CSLCHSnMore It sounds the same actually. Over here a full time Masters typically takes 2 years but some can be done in a year, apparently.

@virginia_garret @CSLCHSnMore I think it would be a Masters or PhD at University. Masters is a 2 year course and PhD obviously gets you a Doctorate and can take 3-4 years.

@virginia_garret @CSLCHSnMore Riches in heaven, Virginia, riches in heaven…

@KevinObie1 #HealthyFaithChat Q10

I thought I was a good person, knowing God has made me far more humble. It gave me a new benchmark for what good is. I hope that I am a kinder person now, because he has shown me just how wretched I am. No better than anyone else.

@KevinObie1 I like to think I had some Help there 😀 God bless.

@barry_noor @KevinObie1 His pure love would not be total without the totality of his wrath also.

@barry_noor @KevinObie1 God sees all that for what it is, and he’s angry. He created us to be perfect and then look what we do. We destroy our Earth, other people, ourselves.

But he also loves us totally and only asks that we repent with our hearts and our mouths, and accept his grace in Jesus.

@barry_noor @KevinObie1 The old me, I used to think that. I think it’s driven from a lack of appreciation as to how bad sin is. Think of the way modern humans diminish the reality of abortion. Or the consequences of infidelity for broken homes, broken children, broken lives.

@men_like_trees @KevinObie1 #HealthyFaithChat Similar to how The Law told us what sin was, and The Gospel showed us how we can be saved.

We must be emptied of our arrogance, our pride, before we can be filled with the Spirit (empty the old wine before filling with the new).

@KevinObie1 #HealthyFaithChat Q9

We will have eternal life and complete contentment, wanting for nothing, in Heaven. But in this life, no guarantees 😀

@KevinObie1 #HealthyFaithChat Q8

We do not always know why God allows things to happen. Sometimes those things will be inexplicable. In human terms they may be tragic. If we see our lives as being purely of this earth then they are, but this life is but a heartbeat, and He is truly just.

@KevinObie1 #HealthyFaithChat Peace, spriritual and mental. And these lead to improved physical wellness. If we treat our bodies as a temple (as the saying goes) then our bodies will thank for us it.
