@EhzNow @GigiCalcagno Red sky at night, shepherds’ delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherds’ warning.

@virginia_garret @RevDuv I think we should be honest, but we should reflect on how much we share. Motives are important. There are some esp w/ large followings on Social Media who share their warts and all lives for just as narcissistic reasons as those who paint a picture of 100% perfection and success.

@StoneKamino And there was I ready to jump onboard. Not a wise move now, unfortunately!

@virginia_garret I would love to be able to play the piano like Bill Evans, McCoy Tyner or Ahmad Jamal. There’s something truly magical about the way a piano sounds in the right hands.

I see design in the way the human brain and emotion responds to even the simplest chords and phrases…

@KevinObie1 @RachaelColby7 @FlixLec84430272 Nicely done site - very useful seeing the schedule of upcoming chats, and all the chat leaders!

@CSLCHSnMore Darwin got one thing right…

@Carpet16100850 There are 42 other books in the series. I really recommend a subscription to Scribd. It has a vast number of commentaries, including John MacArthur’s full NT set and many many others. Very good value at $11.99/month, for unlimited books. The iPad / Android tablet apps are great. t.co/huzJMPHvv…

@Carpet16100850 No ‘documentary hypothesis’ acrobatics and a defence of single authorship. It focuses on internal exegesis and coherence.

@Curi_Christian You’re right. Sometimes there is fun to be found in exploring perhaps tenuous theories - The Berisheet Passover Prophecy for example. A good romp but probably to be taken with a pinch of salt.

@Carpet16100850 He’s thorough and methodical and starts with an overview of the structure of the book so not got into that detail yet. But the preface is that Genesis is historical narrative. And it came recommended by the Ligonier Ministry (RC Sproul’s) so I am expecting a YEC perspective. t.co/MXIO5oACZ…

@Curi_Christian Just remember that some paths are well trodden for a reason - and small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life… don’t stray too far off the path!

I finished my 30 day reading of Genesis the other day and am now reading The New American Commentary on Genesis 1-11 (via Scribd). Only 680 pages…! It’s very thorough but disarmingly readable from the outset. Currently deep in theories about the full meaning of the ‘toledot’. t.co/NrxWmIqld…

@CSLCHSnMore - Apple and Blackberry, an English country favourite.

  • Apple and Rhubarb, another English country favourite, my parents grew both and we’d eat nothing else while they were in season!

And for savoury… the good old Pork Pie, as in Melton Mowbray.

@EhzNow @YouTube Solsbury Hill is such an interesting song lyrically. He was 26 and he’d already achieved everything he’d ever wanted for. Feeling part of the scenery - walked right out of the machinery. There are thematic parallels with Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ as well.

@EhzNow That’s a really interesting thought…

@EhzNow @YouTube My favourite Doors album. Really nice video.

@EhzNow @LibrarySheet Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is a masterpiece.

@swmrgrl @AndrewLivingst2 @ThePunnyWorld Aha! I grew up with BODMAS - Brackets, Order, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction. I demand this joke be rewritten to confirm to my preferred mnemonic!

@robertjforrest It seems clear to me that its emphasising the importance of a changed heart and changed life in the man that is born again. Martyn Lloyd-Jones speaks so well about that in his Studies on the Beatitudes. We should be very obviously different from the non-Christians around us.

@robertjforrest I know there’s some controversy about James, owing largely to this verse… This confuses people. I mean Luther called it a ‘right strawy epistle’ and some have even asked whether his emphasis on works meant it should justly be considered Canon.

@JesseDornfeld That post popped up on my feed with a ‘classic rock’ tag… so in recent days we’ve had Joel Osteen tagged as ‘Comedy’ and Billy Graham as Classic Rock, which kind of suits him I think.

@Melanchthon61 That is really awful! 🤣
