@AndrewS76825037 @EhzNow I’m reading deeply on Genesis at the moment. If I’m not careful that will take up all my time for a month or so. Seems the feedback I’m getting is to trust The Book, before anything else. I ought to find a 1 Year Bible Plan to run alongside, and keep my paths straight!
@AndrewS76825037 It is early days for me. I only truly came to Christ two years ago, so am still developing my study habits. I feel it’s important to first and foremost avoid an imbalanced view on scripture, and reading front to back helps with that. @EhzNow

What is better, if study time is limited? To read the Bible to taste the breadth of Gods word, or to read commentary, to appreciate the depth?
@virginia_garret I think the ‘Imago Dei’ in earlier times was codified as someone who looks like us. It has obviously been politicised, and that works both ways. I have sympathy with people who are uncomfortable with images of Jesus. Most are completely wrong given how Scripture describes Him.
@virginia_garret God’s plan could have been to send a Son who looked like each of the people’s of the world, but he chose a 1st Century near-easterner to act as a light to all the nations. One Son embodies the unity of mankind all in the image of God. Many would have sowed division.
@Sciencenature14 The beauty of God’s design.
@virginia_garret That’s actually a very interesting question! I love pickles. Beetroot and Gherkins are my favourites. I would be happy to just eat pickled Beetroot and Gherkins, if it weren’t for the ensuing gut rot! According to the internet it goes back to Shakespeare.. mlb.com/glossary/idiom…
@KevinObie1 Thanks for the chat leadership today, Kevin!

@loookathar @KevinObie1 On here, it’s often clear someone is grandstanding or has me down as the wrong strawperson.That’s when I call it out and mute them 😀#HealthyFaithChat
@men_like_trees @virginia_garret @KevinObie1 Yes, online, think of what you say as Street Evangelism. Speak as if there’s someone at the back listening quietly, who’s heart might be moved. Eventhough the people at the front are heckling. #HealthyFaithChat
@men_like_trees @KevinObie1 I agree. I am also grateful that I’ve never had to go through this. That said, I don’t think I would ever fight fire with fire. It’s just not me. Moreso now that I sincerely know that it’s not for me to seek vengeance. #HealthyFaithChat
@RachaelColby7 I think you are spot on. #HealthyFaithChat
@KevinObie1 A5 Man is so arrogant. Even unbelievers like to blame Him for what they see as their misfortune.
He has a plan, and all will be worked for good in the end. In this life or the next. #HealthyFaithChat
@virginia_garret @Renevelation @ChrisannDawson @KevinObie1 That must have been so hard to come through, Virginia. I have a friend who suffered similarly, and it’s one thing knowing it is rubbish, and a different thing really KNOWING that it is rubbish. Bad thinking gets so ingrained. #HealthyFaithChat
@virginia_garret @KevinObie1 Thank you, Virginia, I appreciate it. #HealthyFaithChat
@AndrewS76825037 @KevinObie1 I see this example in scrupture… I’m reluctant to apply it to myself; I am too aware of the plank in my own eye. The Lord Jesus and his Apostles were far better placed than I in that respect!
#HealthyFaithChat
@CSLCHSnMore I think I agree on arguing… an exchange of ideas can be helpful but don’t expect to ‘win’ - plant a seed and let it germinate… #healthyfaithchat
@KevinObie1 A3. Don’t expect to ever win someone over to your side by rubbing their nose in things. I’m not sure that a productive discussion is ever gained by harsh words. Unless, perhaps someone is spiritually or physically dangerous, and need jolting out of complacency. #HealthyFaithChat
@KevinObie1 A2 For me it’s situational. I tend to vent in private, which demands a lot from those who have to listen, but in public I try and control myself. Anger doesn’t get you far. I tend not to hold grudges. I am working on making that more unconditional on contrition.

@KevinObie1 A1. My wife. She understands 15 dimensional emotional chess, whereas me… 🤔 😬#HealthyFaithChat
@backpewguy Amazong Prime. I’m wondering where to put it until I need it!

@SarahGeringer What a lovely spot!
@JesseDornfeld @thebedouin2 I have no idea what that tweet is trying to prove, other than DK is correct.
@MnkollarW ‘And what kind of time do you call this…?’
