Sometimes God’s will is for us to learn lessons before we come to Him. I’m sure this was the case for me. Finding Jesus in middle life has its complications! But as Paul would tell us, that’s sometimes the point… twitter.com/AuthorJ_Fowler…

@KevinObie1 A4. #HealthyFaithChat Oh my word…

▶️ First thing I’d say is don’t rush. There is time for everything. ▶️ Second is girls can wait. ▶️ Third is start paying into your pension from your first pay packet!

@AuthorJ_Fowler @KevinObie1 I feel this too. Sometimes things can be an absolute rollercoaster here. #HealthyFaithChat

@KevinObie1 A2. God expects us to be active in our lives. He expects us to act and not just wait. When God speaks he doesn’t always holler. He works through our considered intuitions. And if we are unsure we should seek counsel from a wise believer! Their perspective can help untangle things

@ohtacosforotaku @KevinObie1 You are not the only one, brother. Prayer helps. And keeping busy - or occupied! #HealthyFaithChat

@KevinObie1 A1 Sunday school Christianity that is taking time to fully unlearn. #HealthyFaithChat

@KevinObie1 A1. Honestly? That I’m not good enough to deserve His grace. I know it’s stupid and I know that it is Jesus who saved me, as a gift that I only have to accept. But there’s so much FUD spread by works-based Christians that it’s something that nags at me. #HealthyFaithChat

@virginia_garret It really is wonderful that she’s moved so many people across the world. Genuinely heart warming. Deep down people want to feel like they are part of something good… 🤔🙏🏻

@virginia_garret Quite honestly, not at all. I think it’s a reflection of how Queen Elizabeth embodied the monarchy in its totality. She was very clear about things should be and people were comfortable with that - no surprises. Philip was her rock, but not so much a public part of the machine.

@virginia_garret It’s weird isn’t it. I wasn’t expecting to have been as affected as I am. I’ve obviously grown up with her as Queen and have always been a monarchist at heart, but never overtly flag-waving or fanboyish. It’s discombobulating.

@virginia_garret Thank you Virginia. It is a very sad day. I think the time to come will show just how high a regard she was held in by her people. They don’t make them like that anymore. The end of an era.

@Carpet16100850 Charles was a notorious letter writer!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_spi…

@Carpet16100850 That’s right. No formal power, and under QEII she was very careful to avoid any appearance of political influence, which made her special IMO. Charles, King Charles III has been a lot more vocal on the environment and other matters and that worries me! The power of Soft Power!

@Carpet16100850 One thing that’s weird is that it is eerily quiet in the streets. It may be coincidence, but I’ve a feeling people are actually a bit shell-shocked… it feels weird here.

@Carpet16100850 I have no idea how things will go from here. Charles has been disturbingly political, and woke, on many issues. I worry that we won’t have a monarchy in 70 years and the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about. Republics are so complicated!

@Carpet16100850 Absolutely. One of my earliest memories was of her Silver Jubilee (25 years as Queen) in 1977. I was 4! So far, everyone I’ve heard from is genuinly shocked. For some reason I don’t think we really saw it coming, though it was clear she was getting frail.

From the time of Edwards abdication it was clear she would one day be Queen. Aged 10, when told of the abdication and her subsequent heirship she reportedly said ‘I will be good’, a response which typified her approach to her office and it’s responsibilities. #RIPQueenElizabeth

Queen Elizabeth was not born to her position.

It was only with the unexpected abdication of her Uncle, King Edward VIII in 1936 that she became Queen Regent, second in line to the throne, after her father King George VI, Edward’s younger brother, who died in 1952.
