Jesus did not call us to a monastic life. Or to stand on pillars demonstrating piety for the benefit of other men. I will not deny Christ.

I was thinking about Joseph’s time in prison today (Genesis 40) and the symbolism of the Cupbearer and Baker came to mind. I see two parallels. The Lord’s Supper - bread and wine - and the two prisoners crucified alongside Jesus. One saved and the other cursed.
It seems pretty obvious but I’ve not come across any detailed breakdown of this parallel before. I’d be interested in your thoughts. The bread and wine embodied by two men who foreshadow the men crucified with Jesus puzzles me in particular.

Watching the X-Files from Episode 1 again (for the umpteenth time). It never gets old. Yeah I know it’s all hokey but its refreshing not having characters who drink constantly or have an obsession with their sex lives. Good old-fashioned TV.

I might be a bit odd acting two days after my mum died, putting on a show for the world and maintaining the dignity of my office at the same time.
@stoney01960 @CSLCHSnMore I wasn’t allowed to watch telly in the mornings. I got the 4-6pm slot in the evening. In the UK Mon-Fri that was when the kids shows were on. And the big US imports over the weekend. Knight Rider, Airwolf and the A-Team!
We only had 3 channels until I was round 10 years old!
