@realdanieltitus @freshephi Iβm sure you knew it already!
@realdanieltitus @freshephi As a bonus, βBarβ in a name means βson ofβ. Barsabbas means βSon of sabbathβ or βSon of restβ. There was a magician in Acts 13 called Bar-Jesus (aka Elymas). Jesus was also a very common name in the 1st Century Middle East.

@realdanieltitus So many layers of meaning!
@loveujesus123 @realdanieltitus Here’s a beautiful example. t.co/TJze35OMO…
@realdanieltitus I truly believe you could spend a lifetime of study and only know a fraction of the truths there are to be found in Gods word. You could spend half a lifetime in Genesis 1-11 alone! Scripture is amazing.
@realdanieltitus I only answer if I know as well π I’m a long way from knowing it all!
@realdanieltitus I really like the game, but it spoils it if the same people are first all the time!
@realdanieltitus Too easy! π
@__IamK @deadtosin610 @tangi_davis Yes, but Hebrews specifically says that he has no Genealogy, so I think that rules out them being ‘related’ in the traditional sense. ‘The order of Melchizedek’ would be like saying they were both within the same class, that of High Priest.
@BtrU_22 @deadtosin610 Ha! You and me both…!
@realdanieltitus @freshephi Yes, I’m sure they are different people!
@realdanieltitus @freshephi Wha…! Goes to check…!
My Naves Topical Bible Index has them as separate people π§
@freshephi @realdanieltitus This illustrates something I posted about the other day! twitter.com/WeNeedAnArk/stβ¦
@freshephi @realdanieltitus π I thought you might say that! I think it’s a different Barsabbas in Acts 15:22. Judas Barsabbas rather than Joseph Barsabbas. t.co/VpbeuNyVN…
@deadtosin610 I think that Hebrews is pretty clear that Melchizedek is a Christophany. No-one else could manifest these characteristics and not be Christ.
@Stuartall1977 That looks like a wonderful day!
@realdanieltitus Yes, just not one of the twelve. Luke 10:1 talks of another 70 disciples sent forward. I hope he stuck around after the disappointment!
@JesseDornfeld @CSLCHSnMore Isaiah 1 is π₯π₯π₯
@realdanieltitus Matthias was chosen - by casting lots - God’s providence. Joseph Barsabbas was the unlucky one.
I wonder what came of Barsabbas?
@realdanieltitus 100%!
Circumcision of the heart describes the cutting away of our natural passions and our regeneration and sanctification before the cross.
Below is a very helpful summary of John Wesley’s view on the subject.
Why was circumcision so important in the Old Testament? This always confused me.
I found this article really useful in answering the question. chabad.org/library/articlβ¦
It also helps understand the circumcision of the heart described in Romans 2:29.
