@SarahGeringer A7 An interesting question… humility and meekness is despised by the World. It positively celebrates everything but! The riches and honour and life that this verse speaks of are not of this world. Though God never demands that we live in sackcloth and ashes.

#HealthyFaithChat

@SarahGeringer A6 When man thinks he is better than his creator - God, it is downhill from there… all the great civilisations. Think of the mess we have been making of this World since ‘The Enlightenment’. Just as we think we’ve got it cracked, things suddenly come undone!

#HealthyFaithChat

@SarahGeringer A5 Honour will certainly come to the true Christian in the future Kingdom, but before that, we must accept our brokenness in sin and pride before almighty God. Wisdom starts with that understanding, that fear of the Lord, and His way.

#HealthyFaithChat

@SarahGeringer A4 A fool cares more about their standing, how they look to others, than they care about the truth, or being ‘right’. A wise man takes time to consider and see things from other perspectives, knowing he may be wrong.

#HealthyFaithChat

@EllieR @SarahGeringer I think you are admitting that you know you may not know everything - but it doesn’t necessarily mean you are lacking! You may have right answers but just lack the courage of your convictions! #HealthyFaithChat

@SarahGeringer A3. Taking advice implies dialogue, and Strife suggests conflict. In a conflict sides are vying for victory and the spoils and accolades that come with it. Dialogue is constructive not destructive, is builds up not breaks down. A mutual reward to the wise.

@naenaenuss @SarahGeringer Yes, how many times is it that those who have been bought low by life, and prevailed, then go on to work the hardest to help others going through similar trials? #HealthyFaithChat

@ohtacosforotaku @SarahGeringer I love this! So succinct and so true!

@SarahGeringer A2 Compared with the perfect and Holy God, who knows everything there is, what we can comprehend is but a tiny fraction. Once we realise this, we are a part way towards being wise. But also wisdom comes from learning, and learning comes from making errors #HealthyFaithChat

@HoneycombHermit @SarahGeringer Yes!

@SarahGeringer It is also true though that in every day and every way, and in the small things, He lifts up and supports those who are not too proud to believe they are best off without Him. #HealthyFaithChat

@SarahGeringer A1 The most obvious that comes to my mind is the return of the Jewish diaspora to the restored state of Israel after their horrendous experience in Europe before and during WW2.

@PilgrimIntoWord @CSLCHSnMore Hi Shannon!

@CSLCHSnMore What is this ‘NBA’ anyway? Is it like Netball?

@CSLCHSnMore First!

Morning (afternoon) everyone. Looking forward to another quick-fire #HealthyFaithChat while ignoring David’s shameless sports promotion.

But even more excited than normal seeing as I missed last week’s chat! t.co/moKTjraBP…

@CSLCHSnMore @SarahGeringer Incandescent?! Like Moses coming out of the Tabernacle?

Or like when Moses came down from Mt. Sinai to find Aaron has been ‘crafting’ again 😄

@men_like_trees @virginia_garret @DamonJGray Absolutely. Kindness and love is key, even when maintaining firm boundaries.

@heyjustpray I use lists. They also allow me to avoid the Twitter rubbish injected into my timeline.

Funny how what looks like a 10% purge has happened immediately upon Elon’s takeover moving forward. Though it does seem arbitrary. Many of the accounts I’ve seen unfollow me seemed legit.

@virginia_garret @DamonJGray I know from experience that this is not easy by the way. Especially when the person you are trying to help is close to you. It is very easy to feel like the bad person even when you are trying to do the right thing, and with love.

@virginia_garret @DamonJGray A truly compassionate person does not take the easy road when confronted with sin, self-destructive or self-harming behaviour, for example, compassion is not affirming someone’s self-deception or enabling their addiction. Jesus was hated when he spoke the truth in compassion.

@realdanieltitus Sorry ☺️ I wasn’t arguing, I was persuading. Until it was clear I wasn’t! 😬

@AndrewS76825037 That is my concern too. But I also feel that providing someone has Faith, mistaken acts of Works will not disqualify them. God determines who is saved and who is not, in any case, so I will evangelise faith alone, but refrain from making judgements on someone else’s salvation.

Good night everyone. I’ll leave you with my current top tune 😀

@AndrewS76825037 Yes, in the earlier thread when this came up, I was more specific 😀

I was surprised at the vehemence of the disagreement. I guess for some people it really is a matter of life and death.
