@KevinObie1 A4. Well our Heavenly Father is perfect, and all knowing, so that’s quite a difference. We are everything that He is not, to be honest. Even those of us who try our best to be decent. #HealthyFaithChat
@KevinObie1 A3. Proverbs is truth, but not all parents exemplify that truth…
Parents are supposed to be wise and capable. If we were then children are wise to take heed.
But we are flawed and imperfect… so it’s complicated!

@KevinObie1 A2. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
A parents role is to disciple their children. Not easy in this modern world, I must admit.

@GuidingWord @KevinObie1 Say what?! 😮

@CSLCHSnMore Hiya everone. My favourite 19th Century US President is John Quincy Adams. Anyone named after my favourite fictional coroner has got to be a bit of a legend.

@men_like_trees Absolutely spot-on (as always!)
@carolrobinson15 @mljquotes I always thought she was at the vanguard of modern secularism, humanism and the permissive society… I’m not sure she ever had faith. I may be wrong.
I’m all for standing up for government policies that reflect true Christian values, but we are not called to create theocracy’s & hitching yourself to a crass & loaded label is no better than calling yourself Progressive and ditching all the hard things that the world despises.
@JesseDornfeld An amazing ntetesting question but ‘buddy’ for sure lacks the respect due to Him. The flock has respect for the Shepherd. The Shepherd cares for his flock but is not afraid to correct them. He is Master and Lord, but perhaps like an older family friend you wouldn’t say ‘buddy’.
Deuteronomy 6:5
The great and first commandment (Matthew 22:38) bible.com/bible/2692/deu… t.co/M7RjUeZJz…
Christian Nationalism. Anyone who thinks this is a positive self-description of any kind of biblical world-view needs to spend some time thinking where the term came from. And who is popularising it and why. If you understand the roots of the term, you will see it is pejorative.
@JesseDornfeld It works best when prefaced with something to say that we have no right to ‘claim’ anything, that He did all the work, and eternal life was His gift. We should expect nothing else (except persecution, though maybe that’s best left for another day).
@JesseDornfeld I feel the same.
I prepared this for such occasions. Perhaps its too long for someone wanting to ‘claim it’ to bother with, but it is the clearest single statement of the true Gospel there is in four verses. t.co/CogCUC1pd…
@JesseDornfeld Conversationally. English reserve.
@mljquotes An excellent clip. On a side note it’s incredible that the interviewer, Joan Bakewell, is now 89 years old.
@JesseDornfeld I see with my own eyes that both moral and physical progress is an illusion. I think the two are linked.

@AndrewS76825037 I agree.
