@AndrewS76825037 There’s Noel!
@JesseDornfeld Praying for you brother 😅
@PilgrimIntoWord Honestly, what would Jesus have said about such intolerant behaviour! Oh wait, that can’t be right?! 😵💫
Daniel 10:12

If you wonder about the horn of salvation, read 1 Kings 1:50-53 - in the OT those seeking sanctuary would claim it by grabbing hold of the horns on the corners of the altar… 👌🏻
@men_like_trees Just in the summer. My main place is much bigger!
@virginia_garret Whitewashed tombs.
@virginia_garret The best post I’ve read here for a long time Virginia.
Psalm 18:2
Almighty God was the rock to which David clung, as Christ is the horn of our salvation.

@JesseDornfeld It’s a conspiracy!
Hi everyone. Could I ask a favour? If you like what I do here, would you mind retweeting a few of your favourite pieces? I’m keen to spread the word, as it were! Thank you! twitter.com/WeNeedAnArk/st…
@ChristOurHopeM Remember that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.
God will see you through this trial, for the best, though it may not seem so right now. 🙏
@realdanieltitus 100%. I also trust that God has preserved it so that the best of our modern translations retain clarity, authenticity and sufficiency. It is the least we can expect from Almighty God that His divinely inspired word still hold the truth that it did when first committed to ‘paper’.
@men_like_trees Of course I knew about Ruth’s place in Jesus’ line through David but I’d not noticed the clarity of Verses 11 and 12. That is the value of regular reading. This is not a Book that you read once and put aside. It truly rewards the returning reader.
@men_like_trees I was reading Ruth for probably the third time today but in the intervening period I’ve learnt so much more so this time I was looking for the aspects of Ruth and Naomi’s relationship that progressives point to (it wasn’t there) and the prophesy at the end was clear as day…
@men_like_trees The Bible was written to be understood by regular people. I feel it’s richness and it’s depth and know there are aspects where it’s full meaning is yet to be revealed. But the essentials are there in plain view. Making a habit of understanding the Bible in full is the key.
@EhzNow @men_like_trees I have a lot of lost years to catch up on. I like MLT’s suggestions especially for those who have only just discovered the real Good News. Reading every word of the Bible is essential. Many people just read bits. Many have no idea how the Old points to the New. These are basics.
#1 Currently rereading front to back.
#2 Ive done the NT Chronologically before. This plan does the whole Bible chronologically in 1yr blueletterbible.org/assets/pdf/dbr…
#3 Matthew Henry’s Complete Commentary and the Gospel Transformation Study Bible notes are brilliant companions for this!
@SarahGeringer Isaiah has a great way with words. They leap from the page. Even the ESV translation of these verses reads as bluntly as any modern-day cautionary tale! t.co/UiyKOz1xp…
Ruth 4:11-12. From famine, loss and the death of Naomi’s husband and sons, comes life. Matthew 1:5 tells us of the line from Ruth and Boaz to David and on to Christ - He who would be renowned in Bethlehem. Truly was Ruth to ‘build up the house of Israel’.

@TamaraKaye2 A lucky internet find - I loved it too!
I find the events of Joshua 10 fascinating, not least because of the apparent corroborating records in other historic cultures of a ‘long day’ contemporaneous with that of Joshua’s time. blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewar…
