@KevinObie1 @heyjustpray I think it’s the PTSD Kevin. After 118 it’s just a blank. Tohu v’vohu. In fact, I need a lie down just thinking about it!
@AndrewS76825037 Artificial ‘intelligence’. Bah humbug!
@heyjustpray Ha ha ha… Psalm 911 maybe 😀
@DebKreke @Carpet16100850 I must admit I haven’t - I’m a bit conflicted about it to be honest. There is purity about reading and understanding the Bible, and having the Spirit build that unfiltered relational understanding of Christ. At least for me at this moment.
@heyjustpray I must admit I struggled through Psalms the first time round. I made it but it was a bit of an endurance test! Especially Psalm 118! This time round I need to find a way of approaching it differently. Christologies was how I did Leviticus this time and it made such a difference.

@ChrisannDawson I read recently someone say that if you got a letter from Paul you wouldn’t read it in 10 minute chunks over a week or so, you’d devour it all at once! That is so true! Can you imagine what it would have been like (excitement plus anxiety, in case he was going to call you out!).
@JesseDornfeld Love it 😂 I’ve not seen that video before. Or heard the song. I get the sentiment though. Massive Attack were born of the city I live in, BTW. Cool by association, lol. I’ve always been contrarian though so never really checked them out… 😊
Now I must admit that I think it takes longer to read these and fully understand them (like a lifetime, seriously) but I do find that comprehension is aided by avoiding breaking it into chunks that are too small. You lose the flow, and the narrative excitement, if I’m honest.
How long does it take to read each book of the Bible?

@Carpet16100850 Especially Psalms!
@Carpet16100850 John McArthur recommends reading a Book a day. The same book, every day for a month. That way it gets committed to memory and you benefit from reading each in context, which is definitely wise. I like the idea but I’m not sure how realistic that kind of schedule would be for me!
@Carpet16100850 The first time I read the Bible I did the OT in 90 days and the New in 30. That was hard, but I can honestly say it felt like the Spirit was in me. I just wanted to read it all! I’m feeling the same again! It sounds a bit bonkers I know. 😅
@Carpet16100850 I’d fallen behind in my reading plan and so have been in catch-up mode 😀 I’d normally read ~3 chapters a day plus commentary but over the last three days it’s been around 10-15. I’m now back where I should be. Posting where I’m at is keeping me honest and focussed!
@KevinObie1 @AndrewS76825037 Legit.
@Shirene_G They are great for seeing the wood for the trees!
@AleMartnezR1 @iWomansplainer The X-Files.
@CSLCHSnMore It’s a good job it wasn’t red, or the crime scene clean-up guys wouldn’t have any idea where to begin…
@RealPaulAhnert Love it!

@Carpet16100850 @TheologeticsOrg I’ve had a look at it and it looks amazing for academic study (professional or graduate level), but bewildering for the kind of use I would give it. I find the Olive Tree Bible application just right for me. Though the books outside of those in the subscription tend to be pricey.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
